The main activities of Masjid India reflect the traditions of the Indian Muslim community.

Blood Donation at Masjid India

Malaysia Alagankulam Muslim Jamath is organizing a Blood Donation campaign at Masjid India on 6th December 2008 (Saturday) at 10 am to 5 pm. Brothers and sisters are invited to come and make this campaign at the Masjid a success, insha Allah


Maulids are an integral part of the community’s traditions. The four maulids at Masjid India are:

  1. Maulid Nabi Muhammad (saw) on 12th day of Rabiul Awal,

    and maulids in remembrance of:

  2. Shaikh Mohideen Abdul Qadir Jelani (RA) in Rabiul Akhir,



  3. Hazrat Syed Shahul Hameed Qadiri (RA) in Jamathul Akhir, and


  4. Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti (RA) in Rejab

Teraweeh prayers are held at the Masjid.

Special lectures are also delivered by the resident Imams and guest speakers during this holy month.

Masjid India is also noted for the preparation and distribution of “Ramadan porridge” both to those who break fast at the Masjid (about 600 persons) and others who came from near and far to collect the porridge (about 1200 persons). Masjid India hires a specialist chef from India to prepare this porridge.


Activities are also held to commemorate the beginning of the Islamic New Year.

Social services

Assistance and guidance are also provided by the Masjid administration to individuals and groups on various matters including funeral arrangements, tabligh activities, and personal and family related problems.
